3 Wardrobe Storage Options
Many new homes in America are built these days with a built in walk in wardrobe closet that provides a near exorbitant amount of wardrobe storage space for a couples wardrobe. But what if you’re not lucky enough to have a huge walk in closet? What are you your options for wardrobe storage when the closet is running out of room and just don’t have any more space, yet throwing away clothes is not an option?
In this article we will review 3 options or methods you can try out for increasing your wardrobe storage capacity. Let’s start an overlooked option that is actually one of my favorite – vacuum seal bags.
Vacuum Seal Bags
OK – so you don’t want to throw away any clothes but you need more closet space. An option many simply forget about is to take out clothes that are out of season and to essentially archive them in a vacuum seal bag. A vacuum seal closet storage bag costs about $13 currently from Target – and that gets you 3 extra large bags. That’s going to give you a lot of leverage in getting some extra space back in your closet. The only trick involved? You have to do it.
Wardrobe Closets
Buying a wardrobe closet is sure fire method of increasing your closet and wardrobe storage capacity. A wardrobe closet typically stands about 5 feet tall and 3-4 feet wide, with about 2 feet of depth from the front of the unit to the back of the unit. This stand alone closets are expensive though. Wardrobe closets of the average variety will run you about $500.
Other Stand Alone Closets
Cheap stand alone closets include items such as Rubbermaid’s closet storage boxes and Honey Can Do’s portable closets. These cost as much as $100 but as little as $30. They “stand alone” in that they rest on the floor and are not mounted or installed into the wall or an existing closet. What’s nice about these is that they’re light weight and easy to move, so if your living situation is on the go, you can always take your stand alone closet with you.
