Unique Sinks and Faucets for the Kitchen
If you are looking for a different style of sink for your kitchen, you are in luck. The vast majority of people choose sinks and faucets made out of the same material – stainless steel, but that doesn’t mean that this is your only choice. In fact, there are a number of other options that look a lot better in my opinion. When you are thinking about what kind of kitchen sink and faucet to get, the first thing you should do is take a look at your counter. Since the kitchen sink is imbedded in the counter, you will need to choose colors that blend well with each other.
As for sinks, there are a few different materials that you can choose from apart from stainless steel. The first type is granite, which of course has a natural rock finish. As you might have guessed, granite sinks are very strong and scratch-resistant. Another choice is to get a ceramic sink. Many people like the color white for their sinks. While a white sink is certainly the most common in the bathroom, they aren’t seen that often in the kitchen. Fortunately, some manufacturers produce ceramic kitchen sinks that come in either white or bisque. These light colors contrast nicely with most counters, which are usually dark or naturally wood colored.
If you are looking for a faucet that is a bit different than what most people use, try getting one that is made out of another metal than stainless steel. Both copper and bronze are great choices for faucets. These metals tend to suggest old fashioned looks. If this appeals to you, an antique copper kitchen faucet might be a good bet. Of course, if the shiny appearance of copper is too bright for you, bronze is quite a bit darker. Most faucets made of bronze have an oil coating on them that gives them a dark brown color.
