Heating Your Swimming Pool With A Solar Cover

When it comes to heating your pool or more simply keeping your pool warm, solar pool covers are in my opinion the most efficient option.  Not only do solar covers use the sun to heat your pool but they also trap the heat from leaving as well.  In other words, solar covers can be used whether you have a heated pool or not.

If your pool is of the heated variety, it may be prudent to use a solar pool cover to keep your pool from loosing heat.  If you do not use a solar cover in conjunction with a heating system you will be wasting energy.  A lot of the heat that is being pumped into the pool will be lost and thus you will have spent more time, money, and energy into keeping your pool a certain temperature than if you had employed a solar pool cover.  If you use the solar cover with the heating system you can be confident that you are not losing any heat and therefore will not have to use as much energy.  Also, you may be able bring your pool to the desired temperature in a shorter amount of time than had you only used the heater by itself.  There is one other noteworthy point to be taken from this, it is that since you will not have to keep your heater running as long or at such a high level you will be more environmentally friendly.  For many, this may be reason enough to begin using a solar cover within itself.  Albeit a worthy point, I believe it should not be forgotten that you can also save money by using the cover.

Solar pool covers can also be used for those that do not have heated pools as well.  This is the best option for those that have pools simply for recreational use.  The casual pool owner if you will, will find the most cost efficient and labor free way to keep their pool at a comfortable temperature is by using a solar pool cover.

So whether you have a heated pool that is open to the public or an above ground that the kids swim in on the weekends, solar pool covers are a great way to keep your pool warm.
