Roofing felt is the type of garage roofing material which must be laid out on decking – mostly made of plywood these days. That is because it cannot support its own weight properly. Two types of felt are used, one is called underlay – this is obviously used for the bottom layer(s) – and the other kind is the top felt. It can be a good idea to have a helper or two, as the felt comes in rolls that are quite heavy and cumbersome. Remember to be safe while working on a roof, and if it is a hot day, drink lots of water too!

This material works best for permanent structures that are located in areas where the climate consists mostly of heavy rains or snow falls. These roofing sheets are designed with specific patterns which will reflect the accumulation of water or snow on the roof, thus creating enough protection so that the roof will last much longer. The roof is the main part of the home and must be properly constructed and choosing the right type of roofing sheets is the first step to accomplishing this task.

Metal roofing should receive strong consideration from most property owners due to its excellent long term value achieved with the combination of relatively cheap materials and a long life expectancy.
