Further developments lead to use of gas chandeliers and finally came the electricity powered chandelier. Over a period of time the magic of using crystals and glass was discovered and this made chandelier an object of beauty.

The world’s most beautiful and largest bohemian crystal is said to be in Dolmabahçe Palace in Istanbul. This piece is said to have been a gift from Queen Victoria and is fitted with 750 lamps weighing 4.5 tons.
